They say that Canary Islands have only two seasons: warm spring and hot spring. Its situation in the subtropics, the influence of the trade winds, which blow during the whole year and the relief of each one of the islands are the factors that determine the climate of Canary Islands. In general, the islands enjoy mild temperatures during the whole year, with rainfalls concentrated in the slopes north of the most mountainous islands. The difference of heights in a small space gives place to numerous microclimates in the islands, not being unusual the abundant Sun in Puerto de la Cruz whereas the Teide, a few kilometres away, is covered with snow, for example. The coastline, due to the influence of the ocean, is the one that has more moderate temperatures. On having increased the height we can find zones of great dampness and cold, and a few meters higher over the sea of clouds, which is formed between 1,000 and 1,500 meters there is a strong heat. The oriental islands, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote are drier islands due to the fact that they do not have big heights, staying out of the influence of the trade winds.
